Testimonials
I have worked side by side with David for over 15 years in the development and management of both API and ISO standards. David excels in both his technical knowledge of the various standards as well as the processes and procedures used to develop them. David is a calm but fearless leader and works extremely hard to achieve consensus with whatever group he is stewarding. I’m very glad I came to know David and wish him the best in his endeavors.

I have known David Miller since 2000. He has served the Oil & Gas industry valiantly as a
champion for API Standards and energy policy. Serving as the Director for API Standards, David
represented API on numerous occasions to governments entities, oil companies and the service
industry where his inherent interpersonal skills built consensus within the industry on very
difficult issues. His vast experience and knowledge of industry standards combined with his
leadership skills created a positive working environment where we found overwhelming
agreement among relevant stakeholders and maximized possible gains to everyone.
David’s skill set includes: 1. Include the right people in the discussion; 2. Assigning roles and
responsibilities; 3. Engage the group to solve the problem; 4. Reach agreement; 5. Holding
people to their commitments.

I have known and worked with David Miller since 1989, when he was Standards Manager for the American Petroleum Institute (API) where he supervised staffers in various areas of standards development. He has advanced through several layers of management, retiring as Senior Director of Standards Development, where he managed multiple departments of an organization that created and maintains 800+ technical standards for the oil industry (upstream, midstream, and downstream sectors). Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the breadth of his technical knowledge and the keen diplomatic skills he has developed and used to be a successful leader who is universally recognized for his ability to bring disparate groups together for significant achievements. All the while he has maintained a high level of integrity and garnered support as an industry leader.
